Ugh, just typing that heading made my skin crawl.
I will never understand why people don’t take grammar as seriously as I do. Don’t they want to write well? Speak well? Be understood?
We can go on and on all day about text speak and the new culture of writing and language, but the reality is in the professional world, how well you communicate will always impact how credibly you’re seen.
In my program at the College, I am training a new generation of administrative professionals. I cannot overemphasize how important it is to write clearly, concisely, and correctly. After all, admins are often the first encounter a customer will have with an organization, so it’s important they be seen as competent.
And business aside, if you don’t talk or write goodly, people will judge you. *I* will judge you.
You don’t want me to judge you.
So I’ve decided to start recording short grammar videos because most people these days don’t read. Stuff is too long, apparently. Even short stuff.
So here are my first three videos, which I got mad enough to do in the car one day. I’ll keep adding to them as I have time, so be sure to bookmark this page and refer to it often!
Enjoy. You’ve just been grammared.
